BIO

Hi, we are the Urban Displays. A mountain bike stunt show incorporating other urban disciplines, for example, free-running and street dance.

Created in the mind of team owner and rider, Rich Smith, designed and fabricated by engineer Tom McMillan (aka The Brain Box).

The start of the Urban Displays goes a little bit like this. Summer time 2015 a group of us friends got together to put on a out of the blue bike show or two at a school once attended by Tom when he was a little lad. Baring in mind at this point, most people in the group hadn’t rode bike trials in quite some time.

Regardless of this we banded together both physically and most of all mentally. Getting back on the bikes for a session or two, gathered together a load of wooden pallets, used a trailer and the rest as they say was history.

It was essentially from that moment on we worked on building a more regular, durable, usable rig to take to events, festivals, schools and the list goes on.

July of 2016 was when we worked our first official event, Dorset Volksfest. Since then, we’ve traveled thousands of miles all over the country displaying for the amazing crowds of people at all kinds of festivals, fundays, school shows and pretty much any event you can think of.

It continues to be an amazing journey of relentless hard work which is always made worth it when the energy from the audiences erupt as they whoop, cheer and watch on in awe witnessing ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Current FOCUS

As a show we intend on doing exactly what it is we are doing now. Working with events near and far to continue inspiring and motivating people to get out on their bikes or to get active, get out there and try something new.
